Programming
Parent University offers workshops and office hours for parents and Parent Advisory Councils (PACs) to receive Title I technical assistance. Workshops are being offered at:
  • Rogers Park Parent University at Sullivan HS
  • Avondale Parent University at Logandale ES
  • Ashburn Parent University at Bogan HS
Workshop topics include:
  • PAC Training
  • How to Spend you Title I Budget
  • ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act): Principle Goal is to improve educational equity for students of low-income backgrounds. Parent and family meaningful consultation on use of funds and parental engagement policy.

  • 89% of CPS schools are Title I schools

  • 1% of school allocations are set aside to help parents develop skills to better support their children to succeed academically

  • The purpose of Title I is “to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments."
