IMPORTANT: The deadline to turn in your LSC candidate forms to your school has been extended to March 9, 2018.

CPS Local School Council elections will take place on April 18, 2018 at elementary schools and April 19, 2018 in high schools. Please spread the word to your communities. On these days, over 500 schools will conduct elections for 6,000 seats.

LSC Candidate Nominations
Candidate forms are available at the school. In addition, you can download and fill out the forms at cps.edu/LSCelections. The candidate must provide two forms of identification and return them to the school where they would like to run by March 2, or to the Office of Local School Council Relations - Garfield Park Office, 2651 W. Washington Blvd, 3rd Floor by February 20, 2018.

  • High school student candidates must file a Form 6-18 Student Candidate Information Form
Please note: There are separate candidate forms for traditional local school councils and appointed local school councils and board of governors. 

Election Coordinators
In order to manage and conduct the election, Election Coordinators will be identified at each school. Approximately 1,500 election judges will be recruited, trained and placed in the schools in order to monitor election day.
